The municipalities of Wellington and Abram-Village, along with the Conseil scolaire-communautaire Évangéline and other community representatives have formed a working committee to explore the possible regional incorporation of the Évangéline area. This would create a single rural municipality that would provide bilingual municipal government services.
The working committee is currently working with Brighter Community Planning & Consulting, a consultation firm, hired to complete a Growth Management Study which will explore the many aspects involved in establishing a new regional municipality. An important element in this process is communicating with local residents and business representatives.
